[00:08.91] I read about a man getting drowned once [00:11.97] His friends thought he was waving to them from the sea [00:15.35] But really, he was drowning [00:17.03] And then I thought, that in a way [00:19.40] It is true of life too [00:21.95] That a lot of people pretend, out of bravery really [00:25.41] That they are very jolly and ordinary sort of chaps [00:28.27] But really, they do not feel at all at home in the world [00:32.31] Or able to make friends easily [00:34.27] So then they joke a lot and laugh [00:37.08] And people think they're quite alright and jolly nice too [00:39.79] But sometimes that brave pretense breaks down [00:43.77] And then, like the poor man in this poem [00:47.20] They are lost [00:48.84] Not waving, but drowning [00:52.71]
